Welcome to Partners Mentoring Youth!
Partners Mentoring Youth creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social and/or academic lives. There are a variety of ways to get involved. Here is what is going on right now:
January is National Mentoring Month!
Across the nation we welcome January and the New Year with the 11th annual anniversary of National Mentoring Month. First started in 2002, this month long campaign encourages communities to highlight the importance of, and the need for, mentors as well as advocates for increased community support of mentoring. This year, the theme of the month is “invest in the future, mentor a child”. This theme encourages communities to make an investment in youth mentoring and the long-term benefits for young people that it will provide. In last year’s National Mentoring Summit, First Lady Michelle Obama called to action this need in the launch of the Corporate Mentoring Challenge. This initiative is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service and pushes U.S. companies to use their power to take an active role in curbing dropouts and juvenile delinquency in American schools through the use of mentoring.
During National Mentoring Month this year, we echo the nation in recognizing the importance of corporate support for mentoring, we thank our local supporters, and we encourage others to “accept the challenge”.
January 26, 2012, is Thank Your Mentor Day.

2012 Sharin' O' the Green 5K
Saturday, March 17
Odell Brewing Company, Fort Collins

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Sharin' O' the Green, a run/walk in beautiful Old Town Fort Collins is a great way to start the running season. 100% of the proceeds from the race go directly to supporting Partners Mentoring Youth.
This year we have a new location and route for our event and will be starting and finishing at Odell Brewing Co. After many years of holding the event at Library Park, we had to find a new location this year due to construction work that the Library is undertaking. We are excited that we have been able to find a new venue close to the original site and within close proximity to the downtown St. Patrick’s Day parade. While sad to leave an old home, we are grateful to Odell for their continued corporate support, use of their facilities and ability to expand the event to include music, food, beverages, and party activities throughout the morning. All runners over the age of 21 will be able to help celebrate the day with a free complimentary adult beverage courtesy of Odell and a variety of other beverages will also be available.
Are you coming from out of town to run the Sharin' O' the Green?
The Comfort Inn in Fort Collins is excited to offer 15% off for all runners to stay the weekend of the race.
Join us for the party activities following the race, as well as the downtown parade and other festitivites taking place around town followed by a comforting stay at the nearby Comfort Inn.
Simply type your arrival and departure date (between 3/16 and 3/18) and you will see the discount between the regular rate and the special discount rate. Use the link below to get the discount offer.

Male Mentors Needed!
Partners is always looking for mentors, both male and female. But currently, there is a large need for male volunteers. With over 80% of the youth on our waiting list coming from single-parent households, there is a lot of opportunity for positive adult male role models to step in and make a big difference. Be it throwing a ball around, fishing, hiking or playing video games, those moments mean a lot in the life of a boy. For more information on becoming a volunteer, click here!
