2008 Board of Directors  

Bob Banta, Chair

Bob is the Chief Financial Officer for The Weston Group.  He joined the Partners Mentoring Youth Board in September of 2005 upon the recommendation of a colleague.  For Bob, the best part of working with Partners Mentoring Youth is making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth who are the same age as his own kids. 

Brent R. Barstad, Past Chair

Brent works in the field of financial advising and joined the Board in June of 2000 after participating in SuperStars as a Team Captain.  He enjoys serving on the Board since he knows he's helping to enhance the lives of local youth and provide them with greater opportunities.  It is also a chance for him to give back, as he was a child who could have benefited from a mentor.

Shane Brown, Board Treasurer

Shane is a Senior Manager, CPA at EKS&H. He joined the Board in November of 2006. 

Rick Elder, Board Member

Rick is a Procurement Engineer for Hewlett Packard.  Rick joined the Board in November 2006 volunteering with his Kiwanis Club at Partners Mentoring Youth's annual Sharin' O' the Green 5K run/walk. He enjoys the opportunity to support an organization that is focused on one-on-one mentoring for kids who need attention and encouragement. He has two teenagers at home, so he's well aware of the kind of supportive attention that kids need today.

Mike Ellis, Board Member

Mike is the Executive Director of the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University.  He joined the Board in June 2005, upon a friend's recommendation, as the connection between Colorado State University and Partners Mentoring Youth is a natural one and should continue to be enhanced. Mike realizes that too many youth in our community face challenging life circumstances. Knowing that kids' lives can be changed forever through meaningful one-on-one connections with positive role models gives him great hope for our children and our community.

Lindsay Gilliland, Board Member

Lindsay is a Senior Account Executive for the Northern Colorado Business Report.  She joined the Board in January of 2005 after participating in SuperStars and then helping on the planning committee for our 25^th Anniversary Gala.  For Lindsay, the best part about serving on the Board, is giving back to the local community that has given her so much.  She aims to help spread the word about Partners Mentoring Youth and eliminate the waiting list for kids seeking mentors.  

Peter Kelly, Board Member 

Pete is a Partner at Realtec Commercial Real Estate.  He joined the Board in April 2006 after he was approached to work on the 25^th Anniversary Gala and met some of the organization's great volunteers. He enjoys helping drive the mission of a results-oriented youth development program.

Justin Morrison, Board Member

Justin is the President/Broker Associate of Moutain-n-Plains, Inc. He joined the Board in February of 2008. 

C. Gerard Nalezny, Chair Elect  

Gerard is the CEO/President of Fort Collins Commerce Bank.  He joined the Board in 2002 after participating in the SuperStars Sports Challenge. He finds his Board position very rewarding, as it gives him the opportunity to make a pro-active, positive impact on the lives of kids in our community, while working with the professional, committed staff and Board.

Shawn Sullivan, Board Member

Shawn is the Vice President of Business Development for Delta Construction.  He joined the Board in 2005 after serving on the planning committee for the first Party for Partners event.  Shawn is impressed by the great staff at Partners Mentoring Youth who work hard to help kids and create great partnerships, which has a huge ripple effect in the community. 

Bob Vomaske, Board Secretary

Bos is the Chief Executive Officer of Vista Solutions Corporation. He joined the Board in October of 2005.

Jennifer Wagner, Board Member

Jennifer Wagner is a loan officer at First National Bank. She joined the Board in July of 2007.
