Race Information

The 3.75 mile run/walk makes a complete lap around Lake Estes. The start and finish are at Lake Estes Marina. Views of the snow-capped peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park, fall colors, and the elk rut season are highlights of this fun event.

Day-of registration add $5. Available from 8:30 - 9:45am on race day.

Fundraising

Prizes are awarded to the top 3 fund-raisers and top fund-raising team. Visit the Race-Fund Raising page to get started or make a donation.

Prizes include a 2 night stay in a 3 bedroom cabin at YMCA of the Rockies, 30 minute massages from Riverspointe Spa, and Road ID products.

T-Shirts

$5 for a race T-shirt with fun artwork by local artist Tim Buck of Local Herd. Purchase with your on-line registration or on race day (depending on supply). Sizes are Youth M - Adult XXL.

Autumn Gold Festival

Awards

The top overall male and female finishers will receive awards at the post-race ceremony. The top male and female finishers in the following age groups will also be recognized: 1-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70&better.

Teams

Participants are encouraged to run in teams. A team must have at least 4 members. The top fundraising team will recieve an award.

Junior Stampede

We invite all kids to race in our kids 1 mile fun run at 9:15am. This run is free of charge!

Dog Friendly Race

Top Dog Award for first dog finisher, treats for all doggie finishers, and doggie water available. Please use a leash at all times. Please clean-up after them and start towards the back of the line-up. Be aware that elk will be present on the course.

Stroller Friendly Race

Fun award for first child to finish in a stroller. Please register your child (youth 17 & under are free with adult). Please start towards the back of the line up.

The race starts at Lake Estes Marina and begins by going West towards the Visitor's Center. Ear buds, etc. are not recommended but not prohibited. The event is called "Running of the Bulls" in honor of the bull elk that are typcially seen on the course.
