Activity Volunteer (AV)
Research shows that safe, drug- and alcohol-free activities and lifeskill opportunities are successful in countering factors that put youth at risk and assisting in positive growth and development of youth.
The Activity Volunteer role is a great fit for individuals who don't feel like they can commit to the Senior Partner role but who are concerned about the factors that put youth at risk and would like to be a part of working to counter those factors with positive support through fun and meaningful activities. If you are comfortable building rapport with kids quickly and love taking part in fun and exciting activities, consider becoming an Activity Volunteer! As an integral part of Partners Mentoring Youth, a Northern CO Volunteer Program, Activity Volunteers work with the Nexus Program, a program designed to support youth waiting for a mentor.
Activity Volunteers assist with fun recreational activities and lifeskill opportunities that are offered on a bi-monthly basis for youth in the Nexus program. These activities include wall climbs, local sporting events, arts and crafts, archery, trips to Fort Fun to play laser-tag, mini golf, ride the go-karts and many more!
Becoming an Activity Volunteer is a wonderful way to get familiar with Partners and often becomes a stepping stone to many other exciting volunteer opportunities within the organization. Activity Volunteers have the opportunity to take kids to and from activities and hang out with them during the trip. Yes, that means you get to play laser tag, too! Activity Volunteers are asked to fill this role on an every-other-month basis (or more if you'd like!) for the duration of each activity.
They are required to pass the screening process, have consistent access to or own a vehicle, have a current drivers license and proof of auto insurance, have been a resident of the state of Colorado for at least 6 months and be at least 19 years old.
