Other Volunteer Opportunities

Youth mentoring programs, like Partners Mentoring Youth, depend on committees to help us understand the “big picture” of our organization. Partners is always looking for talented individuals to volunteer on our Special Events, Program, Marketing and Fund-raising Committees.

Marketing Committee
The marketing committee meets once a month with the overarching goal of driving new volunteers to the organization. The committee attempts to acquire volunteers in a variety of different ways, from viral marketing strategies to networking plans. Past projects have included the redesigning of the website, re-designing of Partners’ materials to ensure a consistent look and feel and the planning out of Partners’ first-ever marketing plan. Future projects include coordinating Partners’ 30th Anniversary gala, strategizing and implementing 2009 recruitment techniques and continuing to update and improve the website. Program Committee
The Partners Mentoring Youth Program Committee presents an opportunity for volunteers to help support the “program side” of our organization. It is a great fit for people who have interest in, or knowledge about, understanding children at risk or in youth mentoring program’s overall development. The Program Committee focuses on efforts that evaluate, support, and enhance the One-to-One Mentoring program and the Nexus (waiting youth) program. Additionally, they act as a voice to represent a different perspective in marketing and recruitment efforts for the organization. The Program Committee meets the second Monday of the month from 11:30-12:30 (lunch provided!) at the Fort Collins PMY office. We welcome new members/guests, whether they are members of the community not involved with PMY, or already active volunteers with our program. Speakers’ Bureau
The goal of the Speakers’ Bureau is to talk. Literally. The Speakers’ Bureau is a group of volunteers who believe in the mission of Partners Mentoring Youth and love to talk about it. Presentations, booths, networking… there will most likely be a member of the Speakers’ Bureau at all of these events, spreading the word about their experience in and passion for the program. The current requirement for a Speakers’ Bureau member is to take part in one form of outreach each month. There are also quarterly group meetings to catch up on new materials and presentation tactics. Special Event Committees
Throughout the year, Partners Mentoring Youth hosts a variety of fund-raising events that are fun, community-driven and help support our mission. These events are successful due in large part to committed groups of volunteers who help plan and implement each event. Volunteers on these committees have the opportunity to work with other energetic community members and gain experience in planning large-scale events. From securing permits to distributing posters, these volunteers do a little of everything! Currently, our events include Red Envelope Dinner in Estes Park, Sharin’ O’ the Green 5K run/walk in Fort Collins, Party for Partners in Fort Collins, Gathering in the Garden in Loveland, SuperStars Sports Challenge in Fort Collins and Running of the Bulls in Estes Park.
